The symposium will be held February 17, 2012 during the Catfish Farmers of America Annual Meeting in Savannah, Georgia.
The symposium is intended to be a forum for exchange of scientific and technical information among researchers, extension personnel, catfish farmers, and graduate students of aquaculture. We encourage contributions on results of specific research and Extension projects as well as reviews of recent advances in technology. Abstracts will be selected for oral presentation by farmers from Mississippi, Arkansas, and Alabama. Due to the current financial difficulties faced by the U.S. farm-raised catfish industry, preference will be given to those authors whose findings demonstrate a potential positive economic impact on commercial facilities.
